About Kimm

Kimm is a mom, a mother-in-law, and a gramma. These are her tribe. She began writing at ten and has always loved words, knowing they possess great power.

Dividing her time between Canada and the USA, Kimm co-founded a Traditional Publishing Company, not wanting the best-written manuscripts to go unpublished because of money.

Therefore, she founded Ahelia Publishing to allow more authors to get their work into the world.

Kimm continues to write, but spends most of her time publishing the works of others.

About the Beyond Solstice gates series

Beyond Solstice Gates saw her firs its first words in March of 2011 with Jennifer, the main character, making soup on her twelfth birthday. She finds herself taken—much against her will—to the land of Trilleah, just beyond the unseen realm's iron gates.

These gates are only open twice a year—once on Winter Solstice and again on Summer Solstice. When they are open, Jennifer and the others she has yet to meet have only 24 hours to do what they must and get out.

The reason she must go to Trilleah? Her parents met death when struck by a train on a track that had been grown over and closed for decades. Her mamma's soul was stolen before it could reach heaven and has been locked away in the forest of Trilleah ever since.

Jennifer and the others must find a dozen clay tablets and break the curse that holds the souls in Trilleah. If not, the King will destroy the land, and the souls will be eternally lost. But the King knows the same things and has gone to great lengths to hide the tablets in the land's most dangerous and protected parts. The war is on: the King needs to keep the souls cursed in his land. Without them, the land would crumble, and the King would have a curse placed on himself.

However, travelers mistakenly believe that all they need to do is find tablets. They have no way of understanding that sacrifices will be required when—and if—they do, and bonds will be tested.
